Home Woodworking Plans: How to Build a Bed Frame
Woodworking plans to build a bed or bed frame is easy enough for almost anybody to do. There are very few materials and tools needed, and there is little skill and tie required to finish the entire project. In a matter of one afternoon, a beginner woodworker can be sleeping in a professional-looking, wood bed he just made.
It is likely that one already will have all of the tools needed to build a bed frame. The only tools you will need are a screw driver and a saw. The materials needed are bed rail hangers, wood, and wood screws. As said, this can be done by almost anybody in a short period of time.
First, after purchasing all of the tools and items you need, it is time to start building. Attach the bedrail hangers to the end of the side rail and the head post. Do this for all of the corners.
Then, screw a support rail to each side rail. Space the screws about 12 inches apart.
Next, the saw is needed to cut a groove in the support block and support beam. Designs and diagrams for these grooves can be found in woodworking plans.
Now, it is time to attach the support block to the center of the head and foot rails. Attach these with the screws by using your screwdriver.
Lastly, it is time to connect everything. First connect each rail to the posts with the bed rail hangers. Then, insert the support beam between the two support blocks. At last, rest some plywood in the middle for support.
Making a bed is simple for almost anybody. With some good woodworking plans, this project can be made with awesome creativity and design.
