An exercise to learn the notes on the fretboard of a guitar?
I've played the guitar for 3 years and I still don't know all the notes on the fretboard. I've tried before, and know a few of the notes, but if you ask me "where is F# on the B string?" it would take me a few seconds to figure it out.
Naturally this is a problem if I want to join a decent band. So my question is...How did you learn the notes on the fretboard? Did you use a certain strategy?
im an @sshole so i didnt learn the notes, but i learned intervals, which is really bad.
Just play scales and get a book that jas sheet music and force yourself to read, because thats the only way you'll learn (and its what im doing too)
