In the beginning the golden retriever was named the yellow retriever. In later years the name was largely replaced by the golden retriever, a name made up by the late Lord Harcourt. Also at the beginning of this century there was consternation about the origin of the breed. Black with a wavy coat retrievers were known in certain circles in the south of Scotland in those days, but especially black Labradors are very popular. Actual yellow retrievers were hardly known, except for a few members of noble families and their close friends. Their subsequent spread to all parts of England was not easy to provide. Therefore, it is rather late to try to put facts and truth. Fortunately there is still an undisputed source of information available.
Character
In Britain, Europe, the United States, South Africa, Australia and Japan this dog is very familiar. It is one of the six retriever breeds we know: the Labrador Retriever, Flat Coated Retriever, the Curly Coated Retriever, Chesapeake Bayretriever and the Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever(yes, really!). The golden retriever is full of life, workaholic and controllable of nature, and is therefore often used as a working dog such as service dog and hound. As a family dog he is very sound. Towards children, he is regularly understanding and good-natured, a real do-gooder, but not very watchful. Golden retrievers are often forceful but are softer in nature than the Labradors.
The coat of the golden retriever is tall and thick with a waterproof undercoat and needs little care. Regular washing is however necessary. These particular dogs develop in diffeassorted from nearly white to dark beige to mahogany color. Height of males is 56-61 cm and females 51-56 cm.
The golden retriever is capable and ready and willing to learn well and likes to work for his boss. In obedience competitions he does very good. His boss will do him a massive favor by doing things with him.

What causes hair to be curly or straight??
My hair is kind of curly and a little wavy. What do people with straight hair have that people with curly hair dont have?? And what do people with curly or wavy hair have that people with straight hair dont have?? Im just curious because I see lots of people with blonde hair, and their hair happens to be straight, but people with black or brown hair happen to straighten it alot and it's mostly curly.Why is that?? My hair is light, light brown with golden streaks.It's very smooth when I straighten it.My hair barely falls out. HOW CAN I GET MY HAIR TO BE SMOOTHER AND MORE VIBRANT WITHOUT STRAITENING IT? Two things cause curly/staight hair...genetics and hair weight. Curly hair is caused when the hair grows from the folicle with one side being slighly longer than the other (the smaller the curl the more pronounced the length difference) on some people causing it to curl or wave. (just imagine taking a string, folding it in half, twisting it, and pusing one side up so that it curls tighly around the other half of the string.) The other is because of weight. I have long blonde hair and when it is short it's very curly but right now it's straight because it's so long. If I curl my hair it still falls very fast even with hair spray because of it.
Here are some ways to staighen your hair without using a flatiron. If you blow dry your hair while brushing it and using a light spray that might help. Don't braid your hair or put it in a bun constantly! Some people don't realize that certain hairdo's "train" hair to be wavy and curly. Always use a good conditioner too with antifriz...the dryer it is the "poofier" it gets. (Garnier has the Antifriz and Long and Srong lines that I highly recomend for hair protection and smoothness.)
