why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the glue bottle?
seriously! I've always wondered! does air have to hit it to start the chemical breakdowns in the adhesive or something? Just wondered if anyone knew the answer to this...
Basically, yes, air has to hit the glue for it to start to dry, and in the process of drying it cures. An exception is epoxy, which you would know as they glue that has the two tubes of usually yellow and clear gels, that you have to mix after they squirt out. Epoxy begins to cure as soon as the two chemical mixtures come into contact, which is why it is sold with the mixtures seperate. For the most common glues though, an air-tight bottle prevents the glue from drying out, via the process of either water or another chemical solvent evaporating.
