Buying Corian Style Counters To Install Yourself
When it comes to upgrading your kitchen, you don't want to skimp on your countertops. Much more so than appliances, poor quality countertops will prematurely age your kitchen. But if you've been shopping around and looking at Corian pricing, you may be put off by the expense of Corian solid surface kitchen tops. What you may not know is that you can save thousands of dollars by installing your Corian counters yourself. 2. Selection and Pricing: The company should have a wide variety of Corian colors from which you can choose, and should offer samples at a minimal cost so that you can make your final selection. The pricing should run about 50 to 60 percent of what you would pay to buy Corian counters and have them professionally installed.
3. Communication: You should be able to send the company a drawing of your kitchen layout and the dimensions of your countertops by fax or email. soft scrub scratching?
someone asked about cleaning a solid surface cook-top. the answer involved the use of soft scrub. fine. however, soft scrub use will void the warranty of virtually all surfaces upon which it is used. use it on your tub? dirt will collect in the newly scratched surface. use it on your corian countertop? fine, just hope it never requires manufacturer inspection.
I've used Soft Scrub on all kinds of surfaces and have never had a problem.. The other main thing to note is what you are using the Soft Scrub with a towel, cloth or something more harsh that may scratch like a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.... Or a brillo.... I used to work in a photo lab and we'd clean our RA-4 and C-41 machines with soft scrub to remove developer and chemical deposits and stains.... It had to be rinsed very, very well and applied with a non-scratch GREEN brillo... Since negatives can scratch very, very easily... So, being careful was a must... I've never had a problem... Also, I've NEVER seen a manufacturer inspect ANYTHING.... Just be sure to follow manufacturer instructions... For a glass or ceramic cooktop they make special cleaners that are basically SOFT SCRUB.. Just use with care and NOT a lot of elbow grease....
