Power Savings Plugs: How do they Work?
Products that are used to cut the household costs and save money in the budget, as well as products that can help to save energy in the home and create a green friendly environment are becoming more and more popular.
Powers saving plugs are one of the most popular electronic products that can be used to reduce the costs of the utilities in the home as well as an effective way to reduce the impact on the environment, a great combination that can benefit both the consumer and the earth at the same time.
Through the use of the power saving plug, there is a small device that is placed through the outlet. The plug is plugged into these power saving plugs, and while retaining access to the outlet, the consumer can easily switch the plug on and off, through the pushing of a small button through the device, that can easily switch the power on and off.
As an effective way to reduce the consumption of power, the consumer is easily able to leave the devices plugged in to reduce the time that is spent plugging and unplugging various devices as the device can be easily switched on and off, with the click of a button.
Convenience has never been easier, and the consumer no longer has to worry about feeling guilty about leaving devices plugged in. Through the use of power saving plugs, it has never been easier to plug in a device and forget about it – without paying for it.

What is the reset button called on some plugs of some appliances?
some appliances like my new hair blow dryer has a "reset" button on it. what does this button do. what is this security feature called? and how is it safe? thanks
its the big black thing where you plug into the socket of a AC
It should also have a "test" button.
These appliances have a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interruption) circuit breaker built in to the plug. This provides you with an extra measure of protection against electric shock.
Hit the "test" button once a month, or so, and the "reset" button will pop out. Press "reset" back in to resume using the hair dryer.
This is a nice feature, especially if you live in an older house without GFCI outlets.
