Can anyone tell me why my well water tastes like a book of matches?
I have a carbon wrapped whole house water filter hooked up right before my water softener, the filter is supposed to last 3 months but i'm fortunate if i get 3 weeks. Sometimes i barely get 2 weeks. Certain times of the year, usually winter, it will go almost a month.
And sometimes i get alot of sediment that clogs up my filter, but right now no sediment, just the match smell and taste. Any out there understand why wells act like that? Thanks.
I had a well with a high concentration of sulphur in the water and it tastes like matches and smelled like rotten eggs. Ordinary filters will not get rid of this you will need to consult a water treatment professional. Good lUck!
